If you think you might be feeling more anxiety than usual, you’re probably right.
In July, the Census Bureau reported that 35% of Americans are experiencing symptoms of anxiety that could be diagnosed as Generalized Anxiety Disorder. That is up 5 percentage points since January and almost double what it was six years ago. In this series, Distressed: Living in An Age of American Anxiety, we’re discovering what the Scripture teaches about anxiety, looking at scientific research on reducing anxiety, and addressing the root causes of the anxiety we feel.
